My Onebike, is an Australian company that designs Electric Commuter Bikes for Seniors in Perth so that they can travel around safely, and in comfort.
When you are looking for an easy way to get around town or take a quick trip down to your local shops, using an electric bike is the perfect Perth solution. With an electric bike, you can save your legs in walking, and save a lot of money in petrol too!
Local shopping can become a breeze if you just hop onto your electric commuter bike and coast down the road without breaking a sweat.
An electric commuter bike is simply a bike that has been designed with a battery for the average person who is not aiming to go on a super trail bike ride, or head up rocky mountains. At the same time, these electric commuter bikes are fantastic at handling steep hills (not that you need that so much in Perth), and for taking the strain off your knees with the power assistance provided by the battery.
Riding an electric commuter bike is a great way to stay independent in being able to move around your local area without having to rely on taxis or family and friends to pick you up all the time. Plus it is a pleasant way to enjoy the outdoors, especially when the weather is good.
Even though our Perth electric commuter bikes are battery powered, they still provide the rider with plenty of health benefits and good exercise. These E Bikes give you an opportunity to do as much of the hard work as you feel like, and then you can take it easy as you pedal along gently and leave the extra work to the battery to help you along.
Electric commuter bikes are also a great way for senior members of the community to enjoy social activities in groups or clubs where they can go riding together. The option of using an electric bike means that you can keep up with the rest of your riding group without any trouble.
Riding electric bikes on public footpaths is not allowed anywhere in Australia. However, you are allowed to ride them on bicycle paths as long as the bike follows the lawful regulations that states an electric bike must have a ‘pedal assist’ mechanism, and you are limited to 25 kms per hour at any time for public areas.

]]>The Gold Coast is the place to have fun-in-the-sun, and what better way to enjoy the thrill of the beachside environment than by actually being outdoors on your electric bike or electric scooter.
On the one hand you will be able to appreciate the local sights better than you ever can from your car simply because you are travelling at a pace where you can take in the sights in more detail. Driving around in your car can get you to your destination faster than you would on an electric bike but the downside is that you fly by so many beautiful views and interesting landmarks and miss some of the best views of the area.
On the other hand, you are still travelling in comfort.
No heavy-duty pedalling.
No heavy traffic worries.
No petrol costs incurred.

Buying and renting e-bikes in Sydney has become a popular option among the local community. With a hike in petrol prices and a growing number of reasons that other transport options are becoming less attractive, E-Bikes seem to be the way to go.
If you have been a fan of exercising on your bike for many years, you may feel that riding an electric bike is a bit of a cop-out. After all, how much exercise can you get riding around the roads of Sydney on an electric bicycle?
Well, as it turns out, it has been noted many times on the internet that even moderate exercise can improve your health dramatically. And that’s where the health value in riding electric bicycles in Sydney plays off.
Another reason why buying or renting electric bikes has become so popular to the Sydney folk is that it really does provide a great option when it comes to commuting to and from work. If you are a Sydney local and you just want a simple option of getting to places that are too far to walk to, but at the same time, you don’t want to spend money on petrol, riding to work on your E-Bike is your perfect solution.
You can bypass the heavy traffic and at the same time, get the benefit of an enjoyable riding experience.
Sydney of course, is famous for its bike-riding clubs where their members can enjoy great roads on their regular pushbike. So it is not a surprise that it could sound like an abomination to many, to make the change from the pushbike to having the pedal assisted power that comes with an e-bike. But the truth is that there is a real need for electric bikes, even for out Sydney bike riding clubs.
For starters, many of these clubs have social experiences where spouses, partners or other family members are involved. These people may love the sound of joining the group for that social bike ride, but could feel a little intimidated by their own ability to keep up with the group. In this case, they could consider hiring an e-bike in Sydney from a local outlet where they can pick it up and return it conveniently.
But in many instances, people end up enjoying these electric bike riding experiences so much so, that they actually feel more inclined to join the ride more often, or even join another group where they can continue to ride around the roads of Sydney and enjoy some outdoor activity.
In this case, you would be wanting to rent an E Bike each time. Aside from being inconvenient, it would work out much more expensive than simply buying your own. So then you may ask where would you buy an E Bike in Sydney? The answer to that is quite simple and would relate to anyone wanting to buy an E Bike anywhere in Australia. My Onebike is a well-established and professional E Bike company in Australia that delivers to Sydney via a purchase from their online store. They provide a strong after-sales service whereby they communicate with their customers several times over the phone - after the sale, to make sure that everything is understood in how to operate the ebike and in how to ride it. This is a very important after-sales service that helps people who are new to the world of e bikes by having that support that helps them to get started.
Aside from structured times and places to ride an e bike in Sydney, there is plenty of scope for free-riding fun where you can take to the wide long roads and just start to experience the great outdoors, probably, further than you have before.
The other great thing about riding an electric bike in Australia is that you can use your bike along footpaths and bicycle paths just as you would a normal push bike, as long as you follow the rules and regulations that are associated with e-bike riding in Australia.
Thankfully, there are not that many really. Probably the most ‘limiting’ law (excuse the pun), is the speed limit.
Now you can take this any way you like, but really it’s not so bad. After all, if you were walking along a footpath, you wouldn’t want a high-speed electric bike speeding past you and scaring the living daylights out of you.
It’s true that on the road you would most likely travel faster than the restrictive 25 kms/hr that applies by law. So in the case of an electric bike on actual roads in Sydney, does this still apply?
Unfortunately, I have to say Yes, it does. But that is only on public roads, or/and in public areas.
If you were in an off-road environment you could go as fast as you like. Having said that, to make e bikes compliant in Australia they are built to restrict your speed to the set 25 kms/hr, meaning that even if you were able to, you would not be able to do it because of the limitations applied to the mechanics of the electric bicycle itself.
But when you have an ebike, there are times where you will want to put it in the back of your campervan, or hook it onto your bike rack and go somewhere further out. When this is the case and you are in an off-road environment or on an off-road track etc, you can use a delimiter.
The function of the delimiter is to do exactly what it sounds like… It removes the speed-limiting function on the electric bike, allowing the rider to use it to its full capacity and really take it for the ride that will excite them.
Currently riding any type of bike in Sydney, e bike or otherwise, is still not the best as far as bike accessibility and safety are concerned. In Australia in general, we have a long way to go before our roads are designed and created well-enough for bikes as a feasible option to actually replace their everyday transport requirements.
Still, local councils are becoming more aware of the need to address this issue and to adjust their roads to become more suitable and safer for the regular bicycle, and electric bicycle rider.
I guess it goes without saying that the fastest growing area for electric bikes is in Europe where the roads are already much more suitable for a variety of electric vehicles. This helps the rider to feel comfortable and safer on the roads. It acts as a way to promote cleaner living as more people are encouraged to use the electric bike as their regular mode of transport (whenever possible).
However, things are underway to get that moving in the right direction, (as they should be). With the estimated e-bike market growing at the rate of being valued at 27 USD billion in 2021, and an expected growth to reach a value of 54 USD billion by the year 2027, (according to Mordor Intelligence). So with a growth rate like that, it is obvious that Australia still has a lot of growing up to do as far as road-infrastructure for accommodating e-bike riders better.
Initially the effect of COVID in the previous year showed significant slowing down due to production disruption caused by shortages in staff and in parts and accessories. But at least now the E Bike road is back in action and moving forward and upward. As the momentum grows so too does the rate of demand as we have seen through the steady and closely combined growth for both supply and demand in recent times.
As life has now returned to normal (on the whole), people are still fearing contamination on public transport with new virus breakouts happening all the time. As well as that, there is the petrol price hike that people are finding puts extra stress on their finances. This makes buying an electric bike as a means of commuting to and from work in Sydney a worthy consideration.
As we move forward into a more environmentally sustainable future that discourages vehicle emissions, and we tire of continuously growing traffic congestion issues, people are looking for different forms of transport. They want something that can help them move around without dealing with so many associated expenses and with more ease of use.
Assuming you are travelling locally, you can save money on petrol and avoid traffic congestion by riding to work or to Uni on an electric bicycle. The joy of weaving your way through the traffic and avoiding the high petrol prices, and also getting your daily dose of activity (while playing your part in reducing your carbon footprint on the environment), are going to have you reaching your destination every day with a smile on your face.

]]>Our aim is always to provide the best quality so that our customers are genuinely satisfied with their product. Reviews online tell us that our customers say that their experience when riding our electric bikes are beyond what they were expecting. When people buy E bikes in Melbourne, they generally try to find something that is very similar to their regular bike so that they feel comfortable riding them. They also buy them with the idea that the E-bike is simply for transport. But soon after owning their own E-bikes, they realise that this is not the case and that they also enjoy riding their electric bike simply for some relaxing rest and recreation as it allows them to explore their suburbs and city more.
Electric mountain bikes that we provide from our Melbourne-based electric bike store are noted by our customers to be equivalent if not better, than their famous brand name counterparts. In the majority of cases, people who are interested in buying one of our electric bikes who takes one of the E-bikes for it a test ride, has chosen our E-bikes over other brands that they were also researching.
They felt that if our electric mountain bikes had at least the equivalent power and high-quality components to the other brands, why would they pay so much more. They also were happy with our service.
One of the great features about this E-bike range is the elegant look and sleek design that makes it an impressive-looking vehicle. There are no ugly or heavy attachments jotting out or creating an eyesore.
All of our bikes are beautifully designed and something that the owners have been proud to show to their friends.
As an executive going to work on an electric bike and travelling around the city streets or local suburbs of Melbourne or any other towns and suburbs in Australia for that matter, you will be pleasantly surprised at the comfort this simple motorised bike can provide.
Travel long distances without fear of running out of battery power as our batteries are longer-lasting and have a long distance range which can be extended through more user-pedalling.
Our electric bicycles that we sell online from our Melbourne electric bikes store, give you the option of cycling to work without arriving looking sweaty and exhausted.
This means that you can commute to your workplace without the extra exertion, but still feeling more exercised and lively than you would have if you arrived in your car.
There is also a throttle. This has a switch that can be switched on and off to avoid accidentally increasing your speed, creating a danger for yourself and for other road users. This is especially useful in helping you in being aware of your speed limit on public roads, so that once you have reached the speed at which you can calmly travel along with gentle pedalling action so that you do not go above the regulated speed for Australian roads. This can help you stay at a consistent speed.
When it comes to times where you feel the need to kick up the speed in off-road facilities, you simply switch on that throttle and pedal away, and bring that E-bike up to full speed.
The brakes on the handlebars function in the same way that a traditional bike handbrake works, in that there are handles that you pull to activate the braking system. However because this is an electric bike and there is an entirely different action happening within the machine itself. As an electric bike can more so much faster and at a more powered speed, the bike could easily be moving faster than the brakes on a traditional bike could handle.
Therefore, an E-bike is fitted with disc brakes that can handle that more powerful action required. They can also bring the bike to a particularly fast stop. necessary because they are high quality Shimano disc brakes that are used on the high quality electric bikes around the world.
People wonder about how fast the battery will run out and for how long they can ride an E-bike without the battery losing power and perhaps leaving them stranded with no additional power left. It sounds like a nightmare doesn’t it?
But the answer to this is that you can always get home safely, for several reasons.
If you have taken a particularly active ride away from home or have been on a trail ride with your Onebike electric mountain bike and you have been giving it a good run its money, you may be concerned that you do not have the energy requirements within the battery to get you all the way back home.
We can safely assure you that there's always a way to get home. Following is a list of means that you can use to get yourself and your bike home, even if the battery power is looking rather dim.
As you can see, you may find yourself without power or with reduced power with your electric commuter bike or your electric mountain bike, there is always a way of getting back home.

]]>An EPAC is an Electrically Power Assisted Cycle. To date, there is still a lot of question about whether these EPAC E Bikes are legal in Melbourne or not.
The fact that the pedals are used as a part of the mechanical momentum that moves the bike is one of the qualifiers that identifies the bike as an electric bike, and differentiates it from being a motorbike.
Up until now it has been easy to specify particular vehicles but the E-Bike moves into the grey area of motorised vehicle on pedestrian pathways. Previously, vehicles were clearly differentiated from each other, eg., cars and trucks are very different to bicycles being in that traditional bikes are not considered as motorised vehicles.
For that reason alone, bicycles the laws for bikes were entirely different to those for cars, trucks and so forth. Motorbikes were again easy to identify as being in a separate category to cars and trucks or from traditional bicycles.
New laws are introduced as E Bikes in Melbourne gain popularity.
Here again it was easier to set specific laws for the motorbike as it clearly needed independent rules to follow that were different rules to that of the car or the bicycle.
Now with the growing popularity of the E Bike in Melbourne, it has become important to define their category amongst the road-users and create specific guidelines for them that will be distinctly different to that of the car or motorbike.
Hence the need to create a new set of rules specifically designed for the electric bike rider so that things are more clear in what is allowed and is not allowed within the realms of the use of E-Bikes either in public places or in private grounds..
In Europe, electric powered bikes have been around for many years. Regular bikes had motors attached to them. This was a great alternative to having to get a licence but still provided a simple means of transport for regular use and commute between home and work.
The base guidelines for E-Bike laws have derived from
In various cities around Australia electric bikes have become more commonplace to be written along so you can use public footpath and bicycle paths. Without having certain guidelines set in place these electric-powered vehicles can be a dangerous addition to public pedestrian pathways.
We might assume that a person will take the required responsibility to protect the public around them while using their electric bike - but that would be a mistake. That is why it is necessary to have specific laws that relate to the entire electric bike transport product, as something the user would be responsible for, taking into consideration the power or the E-Bike. So there are now official regulations for how the vehicle is operated and used in these public arenas.
In the main the same rules and laws would apply to use of an electric bicycle as related to a regular powered bicycle.
In other words things like the requirement by law to wear a helmet and use headlights on your bike if riding in dark would all still be relevant. You would also be allowed to ride on public footpath and on bicycle and walking with your E-Bike.
The only additional things that are current at this time within the laws of Australia would be:
MAX 250 W POWER
For use in public areas eg., public footpaths and cycle paths, your electric bike cannot be powered at more than 250 Watts.
PEDAL-ASSIST FUNCTION
Even if the electric bike has a throttle (power-control on handle-bars), it must be pedal assisted. It is the operation of the pedal-assist function that differentiates it from a motor-bike/scooter.
SPEED LIMIT OF 25 km/h
The regulations of using an electric bike in public areas requires that the speed of the electric bike is limited to 25 km/h. Although many may question this as being far slower than someone would ride on a regular non-powered bicycle, it is required by law.
Our Australia-wide company sells E Bikes in Melbourne and all over Australia. At My Onebike, we understand that the power on these E-Bikes far exceeds these speed limitations. That is why they have a de-limiting function that is provided with all of their Onebike E-bikes so that when a rider is not in a public area, for instance they were riding on an off-road bike trail or they were riding outdoors on an adventure ride through the rough terrain, the rider could remove these limits and ride the electric bike at full-capacity if they wanted to.
This is especially the case for their electric mountain bikes, because they are robust enough to travel those dustry, untamed roads. By having the option of delimiting your speed, you can utilise the full power of the 250-500W motor so that you can enjoy a more thrilling E-Bike ride.
Even our Elmax E-Bike, within our commuter range has this function applied to it. And although an electric commuter bike is designed for city use in general, as an outdoor recreational product, you may also want to take your E-Bike off-road at times. Having this delimiting option available give you the ability to ride faster and at a more powerful level than you would get the opportunity for in a regular city-ride experience.
Yes, a well-designed electric-bike is not a toy, it is a fully-functional method of transport. The regulations applied for on-road use and for use on public footpaths, takes into consideration what an electric bike might be use for.
In all of these instances above a quality electric bike, produced by a reputable E-Bike company in Australia, can easily cope with these rides without any issue.
Keep in mind that the E-Bike is defined by having pedal assist. Therefore even if you were riding up a hill, you could apply more or less pedal-power to help you through the motion of getting to the top.
If you are not thinking of these laws as limitations but instead as laws that are there to protect you and the public that are in your immediate surroundings while you are riding, you will not feel like it is a restriction.
Being a road-user is dangerous enough, even as the driver of a car, you are continuously at risk on the road without people obeying the road-laws and that applies just the same for a motor-bike.
There are already laws in place that protect the cyclist, they are not there to limit you, but to protect you.
If you are enjoying your E-Bike experience and you would like to try out more speed and test out its power consider finding trail bike riding clubs. There are plenty of off-road venues in and around Australia where you can get the opportunity to use your -Bike to its full capacity.
The mountain bikes at the Onebike brand can definitely live up to all of these expectations.
In fact, if you wanted to organise a test ride at a particular venue or trail, all you need to do is contact our office on 0408 335 716, or use the Booking Form (we get back to you very quickly!)
With the upsurge of electric bike popularity, it is likely that we will be seeing more trails set up specifically for electric-bike trail bike riding or at least adapted for their use.
For now, you are advised to adhere to the laws and regulations that apply to either Australia or to your state if they have independent laws regarding electric bikes.
In Victoria, an electric bike is simply an electric powered upgrade to a regular bicycle and does not require either to be registered nor does the rider require a license. However, you can check below for specifications regarding this matter from the official road authorities for each state.
If you live in or around Melbourne or Brisbane, we can organise a free test ride. Alternatively, if you are outside of these areas, our 30 day money-back guarantee and 3-year warranty can give you peace of mind in being able to receive good after-sales care and service.
My Onebike is an Australian-owned electric bike company that delivers Australia-wide. We have a fantastic follow-up service to our customers so that we can help them through their teething problems with their new electric bike. We can help explain EPAC Melbourne bike laws relating to E-Bikes, just contact our office.

The high-quality Dapu mid brushless motor with a maximum power assistance of 120 Nm torque, has been engineered to create a quieter and smoother ride, making ascending or descending steep accents easier and adding more control for a better ride. This level of quality in an eBike is also perfect for the more competitive rider.
One of the reasons that we offer a 3-year warranty on our Dapu mid brushless motor 500W 48V motor, (outlasting any other competitors in this area), is because we use such a high quality motor product. For this reason, we can pay it forward to our customers by offering this outstandingly long, 3-year warranty.
]]>At My Onebike based in Melbourne we are focused on providing this kind of quality for our riders as well as making sure that the bikes we sell are regulated for the road laws in Melbourne.
We produce powerful 1000W electric mountain bikes that can deliver some heavy-duty fun for your off road adventures. Matched with a 48V Samsung Lithium battery, these bikes are created for the serious enthusiast. While they are incredibly powerful, these bikes have (built into them) a special unit that allows the power to be limited so that it caps the bike speed to a max of 25 kms/hr.
This way that same 1000W electric mountain bike can be used on road and bicycle paths within the rules and regulations of Melbourne by limiting your speed function to suiting the appropriate regulation speed limit.
Without being able to delimit the speed of these powerful electric bikes, the user would not be able to ride their e-bike on Melbourne roads and public bike paths, even for getting to and from their off-road destination. For people using e-bikes that do not offer this function, the rider needs to use a car rack to get their electric bike to and from the off-road track facilities.
But by having a limiter, meaning that you can limit the speed for on-road riding and bike paths, and also having a 'delimiter' where the speed limiting function is removed, you can enjoy the best of both worlds by riding your bike anywhere you feel like.
As a responsible electric bicycle company we advise all of our customers on the option they have in being able to limit their speed so that they can ride safely and within the road regulations relating to electric bikes on Melbourne roads. Within Australia, these regulations may differ slightly from state to state.
Currently, at the time of this post in May 2022, the speed limit for an electric bicycle on public bicycle paths in Melbourne, and on the actual road, is capped at 25 kms per hour.

]]>If you are expecting them to accelerate as such then you will be disappointed. Electric bicycle riding has to be thought of like riding any other bike, just with your pedalling power multiplied.
An Electric Bike (E-bike) is a bicycle that makes it easier for you to cycle by adding electric assistance to the equation. An Electric Assist Bicycle uses an Electric Motor powered by batteries that can push out 250 watts or more of Electric-Assist, where the Electric Motor only provides additional power when the pedals are rotated – this type of Electric Bicycle is also known as a ''Pedelec Electric-Assist Bicycle''.
An Electric Bike is a normal bike with an added electric drive system. This drive system is powered by a battery. Electric bicycles can vary greatly depending on
There are numerous factors, that affect the riding experience to varying degrees. When looking for a new e-bike, I think it comes down to your budget first. Then the riding experience you want from the bike and how it relates to your budget. Because to expect a $1,600 bike to be the same as a $16,000 bike is setting yourself up for disappointment.
Once you settle on a budget and a set of needs you want to be met by your chosen steed, that's a good starting point. If they are reasonable things to expect of a bike within your chosen budget, even better. There will be things you can reasonably expect within different budgets and its about narrowing down on what are the most important things, with some compromises. Remember, you cant get $16,000 worth of bike for $1,600!
From there, understanding what you are buying doesn't hurt either. Because like I said in the beginning, if you are expecting a road legal electric bike to accelerate like a motorbike then you will be disappointed. It isn't how they work.
]]>And did you know that Electric Bikes converted casual riders to daily cyclists? It’s true! A study showed that only 55% of people rode their bikes once a week or more, but after switching to an Electric Bike, this number rose to 93%.
With its hyperfast growth in popularity, you may have even considered getting one for yourself! However, you might start to think: why not just go for a regular bike? Is an Electric Bike a good fit for your lifestyle?
Well, today we’ll talk about the pros and cons of both options for you to better gauge which bike is best for you!
Before we begin comparing the regular bikes and Electric Bikes though,
WHAT ARE ELECTRIC BIKES EXACTLY?
To the uninitiated, Electric Bikes have a built-in motor that assists in pedaling. For urban commuters, the pedal assist allows you to travel to places without dripping in sweat once you get to your destination. For the adrenaline junkie that loves to ride around rocky tracks or steep hills, the pedal assist prevents them from being completely wiped out during the ride.
And for the individuals wanting to get their cardio in but may have knee problems or health issues such as asthma, an Electric Bike is much gentler to the body but will still definitely get your heart pumping!
Not to mention it’s environmentally-friendly! An Electric Bike significantly lessens your carbon footprint when you switch from a gasoline-powered car. And you save more on your monthly spend from gas, car maintenance, and even parking fees.
Truly, it’s a great bike! Let’s delve a little deeper into its benefits and drawbacks, shall we?
CHEAPER TRANSPORTATION
Taking a bus, Uber, or however you need to get to where you need to be, an Electric Bike is the cheapest way to get around. Commuting can be a hassle and its cost will add up on your monthly spend.
And as we mentioned above, if you use a car, opting for an Electric Bikes saves you big on gas, maintenance and even license and insurance.
To add to that, the initial cost is a lot less inexpensive.
YOU CAN TRAVEL FURTHER AND FASTER
By law in Australia, our Electric Bikes can easily assist you up to 25Km/H. The motor can actually get you up to speeds of 45Km/H, but this would require the buyer to delimit the bike. This is a service we do not offer, but can easily be configured through the bikes computer. Regular cyclists can’t really go that fast with their own power. So, with a higher average speed, you will reach your destination in no time!
And since you can go much faster with ease, the amount of effort required to cover 10 miles on a conventional bike, for example, can carry riders closer to 20 miles when combined with the power generated by an Electric Bike motor.
GREAT EXERCISE FOR ANYONE
Especially for individuals with health conditions with a limited physical capacity but still need exercise to maintain their health. As we mentioned above, this is much gentler on the body and at the same time empowering for these individuals.
SWEAT-FREE COMMUTES
Now, if you’re a commuter, an Electric Bike makes it easier for you thanks to its pedal assist. Got an important meeting that’s a few kilometers away? You can get there on time while still looking fresh and well-putted once you arrive.
Now, time for the drawbacks…
SIGNIFICANT UPFRONT INVESTMENT
Yes, an Electric Bike can save you some money in comparison to a car, however Electric Bikes can cost a lot. You only start saving prior to making the investment.
IT’S HEAVIER THAN A REGULAR BIKE
Since it has a motor and a battery, this adds to its overall weight. Even after immense improvements in technologies and components, Electric Bikes are still noticeably heavier than your average, normal bike.
SPECIALIZED & COMPLEXED PARTS
Electric Bikes still have the usual parts of a regular bike that you can find anywhere, but there are still a handful of highly specialized components unique to Electric Bikes, hence they are quite hard to find or more expensive.
Now onto the traditional yet ever reliable bike! Despite Electric Bikes gaining its prominence, a regular bike can still be a good option for you. So, let’s talk about the benefits of opting for a regular bike instead.
LIGHTER THAN AN ELECTRIC BIKE
Without a motor that powers your bike, this makes regular bikes significantly lighter than an Electric Bike. This makes it easier for you to travel with and even pedal faster.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Not all Electric Bikes are allowed in certain areas and parts of the world. Since it’s a motorized means of transportation, that means they are subject to government regulations. In comparison, a regular bike has more freedom to ride around in places.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
All the components of a regular bike can easily be found anywhere with competitive prices, whereas Electric Bikes have super specialized parts that are quite difficult to find and are on the expensive side due to its rarity.
Plus, with a regular bike, you don’t need to worry about expensive battery replacements!
IT’S NOT A HUGE UPFRONT INVESTMENT
Unlike the Electric Bike. Regular Bike prices have a wide price range, which leaves you with a plethora of models that are more affordable in comparison to an Electric Bike with fewer models and a limited price range.
PRONE TO INJURY
There is a tendency to over exert yourself that may lead to an injury such as knee problems.
IT’S MORE TIRING
Without the boost that an Electric Bike gives, regular bikes can take more effort getting to places, leaving you sweaty and tired.
IT TAKES MORE TIME AND EFFORT TO GET TO PLACES
It all depends on how fast you can go and your endurance, but an Electric Bike’s fire power is still incomparable in terms of distance and the time it takes.
There you have it! Each bike has its ups and downs and it all depends on your preference and lifestyle on which best suits you.

]]>You might have assumed that Electric Bikes are fairly new in the market but surprisingly, they've been introduced to the world since the early 2000s, but it was deemed absurd by the audience. And thus, they weren’t very common back then. Considering the early models were quite bulky and the batteries were costly and added to the weight, it wasn’t quite appealing to the general public.
Fast forward to 2021, the industry has now released sleeker, more light-weight, and powerful Electric Bikes. Thanks to the advancements of the Lithium-ion battery, Electric Bikes are not only getting a major boost but they’ve become cheaper. There is a whole galore for you to choose from. However, there are things you need to know before joining the Electric Bike bandwagon. So we’re tackling all the questions every Electric Bike newbie has!
HOW DOES AN ELECTRIC BIKE WORK?
Think of it as a regular bike but with an electric motor that assists in pedaling, making your ride more efficient, effortless, and powerful.
When you pedal at a normal pace, the electric motor will replicate the pace, making it a whole lot easier for you. The electric motor is a game changer when it comes to braving steep or long hills, rough terrain, and even powering through the strongest headwind. Thanks to its electric motor, you still get the same power even when you’re too tired to keep pedaling.
Think of the Electric Bike as the child of the traditional bicycle and motorcycle! It may not go as fast but it ensures the rider only has a smooth experience. So, the electric motor is not here to replace you, but to supplement your pedaling power.
If you’re worried about its weight, it is quite heavier than your humble everyday bicycle, however this weight will not hinder your riding experience as extra weight doesn’t mean much against the weight of the rider itself. And with the motor assisting you, it can manage a much heavier load.
ARE ELECTRIC BIKES LEGAL IN AUSTRALIA?
Our Electric Bikes are 100% legal! All of our models have motors over 250W, these are deemed for offroad use under Australian law. It is up to you to use it responsibly.
WILL MY ELECTRIC BIKE BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY?
When you purchase your Electric Bike from us, you get a 3-year warranty for the frame, 1.5 years for the battery, and 1 year for its charger.
Do keep in mind some other components have their own separate warranties from us such as the Shimano and Sram, but they do have their own which you can check out on their website for more details.
CAN ELECTRIC BIKES BE USED MANUALLY?
Yes, definitely! In fact, you can easily switch between manual and pedal assist, for example you might want to use the motor when riding uphill to avoid completely wiping you out during the ride then switching back to manual once you’re on a leveled plane.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY?
A Lithium-ion battery that’s completely drained will take from 3.5 hours to 6 hours to be fully recharged.
WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF THE BATTERY?
It depends on the usage but it can take 500 full charge cycles for a Lithium-ion battery. But some can even deliver to as much as 1200 full charge cycles! But the trick to prolonging battery life is charging it immediately when it’s down to 50%, that counts as only half of one charge cycle.
If you usually use your Electric Bike with pedal assist you can expect to go 10,000-30,000 miles before replacing your battery. And that’s a whole lot of miles on a bicycle. Rest assured, your Electric Bike’s battery is long-lasting.
HOW FAST CAN AN ELECTRIC BIKE GO?
As we mentioned above, when you pedal with pedal assist (PAS) engaged, the motor will provide the assistance level you have selected. However, it has its limits! The pedal assist will only ever help you reach a maximum assisted speed of 25Km/h.
DO ELECTRIC BIKES REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT?
An Electric Bike reduces your carbon footprint by a lot! It takes over 60 Electric Bikes to match the carbon footprint of a single average, gasoline-powered car. Not to mention saving the environment from CO2 emission that’s produced by a car.
CAN I LEAVE MY ELECTRIC BIKE OUT IN THE RAIN?
On an occasional rainy day, you need not worry as the motor and battery are thoroughly sealed to be protected from the rain. Do keep in mind not to drive 70 miles per hour under heavy rain with the battery exposed, this is like pressure-washing your battery.
CAN I UPGRADE MY ELECTRIC BIKE WITH A LARGER BATTERY?
All of our Electric Bikes have removable batteries! This allows you to easily take them out for a charge and even replace them with higher range batteries.
We offer 360WH and 504WH battery options!

]]>The first thing you need to know is that Electric Bikes are definitely going to be a mainstay. With Electric Bike sales inflating by a whopping 145 percent from 2019 to 2020 alone, what more for the next few years? It’s a USD$ 244billion industry as of last year and there are no signs of slowing down.
In fact, it’s predicted 130 million Electric Bikes will be sold between 2020 and 2023. A report even stated that Electric Bikes will easily outpace other e-vehicles by the end of 2020.
However, the world’s introduction of Electric Bikes wasn’t at all perfect, such as needing improvements to the battery life plus the bulkiness of the bike itself didn’t appeal much to the market. But fast forward to today, the industry now offers sleek, lighter, and more attractive Electric Bikes that’s more powerful than ever!
How does an Electric Bike work?
Electric Bikes essentially assist you in pedaling. And no, it’s not cheating in terms of getting a workout in! You still need to pedal, but a small motor then engages and gives you a boost. This allows you to zip up hills and cruise over rough terrain without completely feeling wiped out.
So this battery-powered “assist” really comes in handy when you’re an urban commuter needing to get from point A to B without dripping in sweat once you get there or someone with a health condition like asthma or knee problems wanting to get some exercise.
Now, Electric Bikes can go pretty fast! The higher the assist level, the more power the small motor produces, the faster you’ll accelerate. However it has its limits. Electric Bikes are not like motorcycles, thus you won’t be able to go faster than 25Km/h with pedal assistance. The motor is designed to stop propelling you faster than 25Km/h to be more specific!
Now on to the question:
Is it practical to have one?
Following the whirlwind of the global pandemic, this has changed the way people move. And with a shift of work commuting, so as we roll our way into opting for a different way of traveling.
Electric Bikes may come with a hefty price than your standard bicycle however the saving starts when you start to use it daily. With cars, you need to have a budget for its gas and its maintenance. With an Electric Bike, you don’t need all these to keep it running. For the urban dwellers that constantly need to commute, this is extremely beneficial as Lithium-ion battery technology is not only getting better, but it's getting cheaper. You can expect to have the battery replaced after around 10,000 miles which makes it an affordable choice in comparison to the cost of running a car in the city, also saving you from paying daily on parking.
Plus you save a ton of time on the road! With cars, you spend more time stuck in traffic. Electric Bikes allow you to get to places much faster and most importantly, with ease. You can go much farther in a fraction of the time spent compared to travelling via car. In fact, Melbourne’s average commute is 14.6km. With an Electric Bike, this diminishes barriers such as distance and hills.
Electric Bikes may seem like a huge investment at first, but compared to a car, you don’t need to worry about the cost of licensing and insurance.
And most importantly, the health benefits that come with opting for Electric Bikes. The recommended weekly exercise is at least 2.5 hours and with an Electric Bike for your daily commute, you are likely to hit and even surpass this target comfortably.
But wait, wouldn’t the pedal assist prevent you from actually getting exercise? As we mentioned above, you still need to pedal and there are a plethora of studies out there that proves that Electric Bikes do get your heart pumping.
One such study found that when riding an Electric Bike with at least 40 minutes per ride, this gets your heart rate to around 75 percent of the maximum heart rate. Which is similar to a brisk walk that is considered moderate exercise.
There’s an Electric Bike for everyone!
